Outer band is steel and dated 1941. Inner band is also steel, all in great condition. Leather is very soft, supple and strong. Shows some wear, one finger shows very slight damage on the edge, barely noticeable. Rear of liner where it is stitched together shows some stretching, again, hardly noticeable. Other side of leather shows a very light ink stamp showing size of liner, hard to make out. Other side of stitching shows another ink stamp which is square, not sure what this indicates. Drawstring is not original. Liner also has an early aluminum buckle and a field applied replacement strap which are original to this liner. The replaced long strap is a war time replacement.
