WW II German Aircraft LKpW101 Fliegerkopfhaube - WINTER VERSION - NICE!

Description

You are bidding on a SUPERB used example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe LKpW101 Fliegerkopfhaube fur Winter mit FT-Gerat (Winter Flight Helmet with Communication Equipment), Ln. 26618, as used by many German pilots throughout WW2!
During WW1, most pilots quickly realized the need for protective headgear due to the cold weather effects while in an open cockpit.
As no headgear was readily available, pilots were forced to utilize commercially produced leather motorcycle and automobile helmets.
During WW2, the German military produced approx. 10 variations of flight helmets for various operational conditions, as well as with or without radio communication equipment.
This specific helmet was designed with radio equipment for fighter and bomber pilots.
It was similar to the earlier model used in the early months of the Battle of Britain (LWpW100), however with updated features.
Made of leather and fleece, this helmet is in EXCELLENT used condition.
There are no rips or tears, and the leather is still very soft and supple.
All snaps, tabs, and buckles work correctly, and retain their original paint.
All the electrics are 100% intact (headphones, wiring, throat mic, plug) and function perfectly.
All straps are fully adjustable.  No data label appears to have been installed, but there are some ink stamps, indicating a size 61.
The cellophane covers for the ear phones are also still present  A FANTASTIC worn example, PERFECT for any collection or display!!
