Original WW2 German Helmet Liner M35 Aluminum And Rivets.
This liner just came out of a helmet from Russia. As shown the aluminum is in decent condition for its age but the alloy band within, is rusted.
The maker stamp is fairly legible and could be researched to know it’s exact area of manufacturing. It is interesting that it says 1940 although it is not made of steel like most M40 liners. Size is 64/57.
This liner was taken out, because I like to install reproduction liners when I add a helmet to my collection. The rivets seem to be aluminum or stainless steel? But they do not have markings on them. I believe that the paint that they once had, flaked off while it was in the ground.
