    Description

Original WWII M42 helmet shell. Marked NS66, meaning it was made by Vereinigte Deutsche Nikelwerke, Schwerte. It is a desirable size 66 shell, made for size 58 and 59 size liners. Batch production number is D314. Made sometime between 1942-1945, this was the last model helmet made by the nazis before WWII ended. It comes with 2 Norwegian state decals, same on both sides. The decals are strong and in very good condition. These helmets were issued to german soldiers serving in Norway and was reused by the Norwegian military post WWII, until they were phased out in the late 50`s in favour of the American M1 helmet. The paint is applied by brush and is a grey/green matte paint. Some slight surface rust/pitting is evident on the dome on the inside and someone has sanded down the exterior paint around the dome, for some unknown reason. Should be easy enough to colour-match new paint or restore completely. I can see one slight dent on the left visor of the helmet, other than that its in great shape!
