Emerald, one of the beryl mineral species' rarest members, is one of the highly prized gemstones. With a weight of 3.51 carats and a measurement of 10mm by 8mm, this stone is captivating in size and beauty. Sourced in Columbia, its light to medium tone has the beautiful infamous yellow-green hue. Emeralds typically contain inclusions visible to the unaided eye, and this stone's saturation perfectly reveals the natural inclusions that give it a unique appearance. With a very good cut grade, the gem has the popular emerald cut to enhance its overall color. On the Mohs scale of hardness, emeralds score is between 7.5 to 8, making it more susceptible to scratching than a diamond. If placed in a jewelry setting, some special care is necessary. It's recommended the stone avoids overexposure to heat and harsh chemicals. To best care for this stone, cleaning the emerald effectively can be accomplished by gently scrubbing it with a soft brush and warm, soapy water.
